Contact Ravina Kaur Bains

Background

Miss Ravina Kaur Bains holds a first-class bachelor's degree in Environmental Resource Geology from the University of Manchester obtained in 2018. For her BSc thesis she worked on evaluating the water resources of the lower part of the Sorbas basin, in south east Spain. This was the first-time analysis of the basin geometry and petrophysical studies had been brought together with the aim of obtaining an improved understanding of the hydrogeology of the basin. Following on from this Ravina worked for Galliford Try as a health, safety and sustainability advisor, assisting in the delivery of numerous projects including Yorkshire Waters Goole Carr Lane pumping station.

Research opportunities

Ravina joined the 麻豆社 Water sciences institute as a PhD researcher in September 2020, as part of the WIRe CDT. Her research focuses on using hydrogen as a key factor for energy resilience and emission reduction for the UK water sector to achieve net zero carbon emissions.
