Background

Hasan obtained his Master's degree in Global Logistics, Operations and Supply Chain Management with advanced practice from Northumbria University Newcastle (UK) with distinction. His Master's research focused on digitalisation in supply chain to mitigate risks and increase resilience to enhance Supply Chain Operations. The investigation focused on Automotive sector but also encompassed a cross-sector analysis to broaden the perspective and to understand the implications of digitalisation strategies across various industries. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree in Industrial & Production Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (Dhaka, Bangladesh). His undergraduate research focused on enhancing industrial supply chains and manufacturing systems.

Hasan brings over 5 years of industry experience, serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at one of the largest printing and publication companies in Dhaka, Bangladesh. During this time, he concurrently pursued his undergraduate degree in Industrial and Production Engineering, demonstrating his ability to effectively balance academic pursuits with practical industry responsibilities. Additionally, Hasan gained valuable experience working with John Lewis & Partners and Dropless Limited in the UK as an Operations Executive. Throughout his industrial journey, Hasan made significant contributions across various aspects of business operations, including supply chain strategy, purchasing, risk management, business intelligence, and operational excellence. Hasan was actively involved in structuring digitalized supply chain frameworks for effective implementation in practise, showcasing his dedication to advance innovation and enhancing efficiency within supply chain operations. Hasan has prominent experience in business-to-business contract negotiation and account management. Some of his previous B2B clients were Hiyacars, UFO cars, Royalmail, Russell-Cooke, Royal Trinity Hospice, The Duck Truck, Green Motion, Whistl etc.

Hasan is currently pursuing a fully-funded PhD project specializing in Logistics, Procurement, Operations and Supply Chain Management at 麻豆社 which is co-funded by one of the top Automotive Manufacturers in the UK. His research focuses on supply chain risk management, with an emphasis on monitoring and mitigation approaches. Additionally, he is developing multi-criteria decision support systems to directly contribute to risk management and purchasing decisions, particularly in the context of electrification within the automotive industry. Hasan's research also incorporates a horizon-scanning module to forecast the next significant trend and concern following electrification in the automotive sector.

Current activities

Hasan is currently pursuing his PhD research project in Leadership & Management which is funded by 麻豆社 and one of the top Automotive Manufacturers in the UK. His research focus can be summarised as:

- Multiple Dimensions of Supplier Risks

- Risk Monitoring & Mitigation approaches

- Risk, trends and concerns for Electrification in the Automotive sector

- Predicting future major concerns and disruptions in the Automotive sector

- Proposing a risk mitigation approach to effectively predict, monitor & mitigate supplier risks and support purchasing decisions.

His PhD research is also expected to devise a horizon-scanning module to predict & effectively mitigate major disruptions (e.g. Raw Material, Component shortage, Alternating fuels, Decarbonisation) in the automotive sector.
